Take Action
Follow our Action Strategy
Since its inception in 2005, the QWQHC has developed and disseminated over 30,000 copies of its evidence-informed action strategy entitled Within Our Grasp: A Healthy Workplace Action Strategy for Success and Sustainability in Canada's Healthcare System. Released in 2007, this 48-page report is a call to action for innovation and collaboration from all levels of our system in order to improve health system delivery and patient outcomes. It provides a workable strategy that nurtures our health human resources and supports them to thrive, not merely survive.
The four elements of the Action Strategy are:
- Making quality of worklife a strategic priority;
- Measuring quality of worklife;
- Implementing and evaluating strategies to improve quality of worklife;
- Building knowledge exchange and actively connecting formal (research) and informal (frontline experience) knowledge.
The Action Strategy was made possible through the alignment of the QWQHC's National Partners and with the input and support from over 45 experts across Canada. The following experts volunteered their time and energy to develop the Collaborative's guiding document: Irmajean Bajnok, Melissa Barton, Jeanne Besner, Patricia Boucher, Leanne Campbell, Robin Carriere, Liane Craig, Michael Cuddihy, Greta Cummings, Evangeline Danseco, Mylène Dault, Jaclyn DesRoches, Tanya Dunn-Pierce, Judith Dyck, Della Faulkner, Mary Ferguson-Pare, Pamela Fralick, Marla Fryers, Emily Gruenwoldt, Gaye Hanson, Janet Helmer, Glenn Hildebrand, Wendy Hill, Edgardo Perez, John Perry, Derek Puddester, Heather Laschinger, Melanie Lavoie-Tremblay, Larry LeMoal, Steven Lewis, Kathrina Loeffler, Marie-France Maranda, Bev Mathers, Linda McGillis Hall, Larry Myette, Lisa Nowlan, Linda O'Brien-Pallas, Marlene Smadu, Wayne Strelioff, Joshua Tepper, George Tilley, Adam Somers, Vicki Squires, Andrew Taylor, Victor Trotman, Todd Watkins.
